THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME IN CONCERT
Featuring the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra
A powerful story. An unforgettable score. One extraordinary theatrical event.
Lee Street theatre proudly presents The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Concert, a spectacular fundraising event featuring a 16-piece orchestra with musicians from the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra.
For one special weekend, the soaring music of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz comes to life in an immersive concert presentation of this epic musical. Filled with sweeping melodies, powerful choral moments, unforgettable characters, and one of musical theatre’s most breathtaking scores, The Hunchback of Notre Dame promises an extraordinary evening of music and storytelling.
More than a performance, this special event is a fundraiser supporting Lee Street theatre. Every ticket purchased helps sustain the productions, artists, educational opportunities, and community programming that make live theatre possible at Lee Street.
THE STORY
Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and inspired by the beloved Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame transports audiences to 15th-century Paris, where the bells of Notre Dame Cathedral ring above a city filled with beauty, cruelty, faith, passion, and longing.
Hidden away in the cathedral bell tower is Quasimodo, the kindhearted but isolated bell-ringer who has spent his life under the control of the powerful Archdeacon Claude Frollo. When Quasimodo ventures beyond the cathedral walls during the Feast of Fools, he encounters Esmeralda, a courageous young woman whose compassion changes his world.
As Esmeralda becomes the target of Frollo’s obsession and persecution, Quasimodo must decide whether to remain safely hidden in the world he has always known—or find the courage to stand for someone he loves.
At its heart, The Hunchback of Notre Dame asks a timeless question:
What makes a monster—and what makes a man?
Featuring songs including “The Bells of Notre Dame,” “Out There,” “God Help the Outcasts,” “Hellfire,” “Someday,” and more, the musical combines theatrical storytelling with a rich, cinematic score.
EXPERIENCE THE MUSIC LIVE
This special concert presentation puts the music at the center of the experience, featuring a 16-piece live orchestra with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra alongside an exceptional company of vocalists.
Following the tremendous success and powerful audience response to last year’s sold-out Titanic in Concert fundraiser, Lee Street theatre and the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra are joining forces once again for another ambitious evening where theatre and symphonic music come together.
This year, audiences will experience Alan Menken’s magnificent score to The Hunchback of Notre Dame with the scale, depth, and power it deserves—from the thunderous opening bells to the haunting beauty of “God Help the Outcasts” and the breathtaking power of the full company and orchestra.
Titanic showed us just how extraordinary it can be when our community gathers around great music, great storytelling, and a shared commitment to the arts. Now, we’re building on that experience with something even bigger.
This isn’t simply a night at the theatre. It’s a celebration of live music, live performance, collaboration, and the extraordinary arts community we are building together.
