April 24-May 2, 2026

One family’s fight against a world determined to break them.

Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun is a landmark American drama that follows the Younger family as they strive for a better future in the face of racial injustice, financial struggle, and generational dreams. At once deeply personal and profoundly political, it’s a moving portrait of hope, resilience, and the cost of holding on to dignity when the world tries to deny it. When a life insurance check arrives after the death of the family patriarch, each member faces tough choices that test their hopes, values, and unity.

With themes of identity, pride, and resilience, this groundbreaking play captures the complexities of family, the struggle for equality, and the enduring human spirit. A Raisin in the Sun remains a poignant and inspiring story about the fight to claim dignity and opportunity in the face of adversity.

Andrew Monroe

Andrew Monroe (Asagai) After defeating the Imposter and a short but fruitful stay in 1980s Pittsburgh (did I mention he's a time traveler? That's kinda important) Andrew returns to Lee St to join the cast of "A Raisin in the Sun"! On a more serious note, this has been an extremely challenging year for him, and being able to join so many shows and continue to build and grow with his theater community is the one thing he looks forward to. This show in particular is a bucket list item he uses excited to check off! Thank you all for coming to the theater and making this dream show possible!

Larry Stephens

Well, hiya! I’m Larry Stephens, and I’m so excited to be part of this production of A Raisin in the Sun. When I’m not on stage bringing powerful stories to life, I’m probably making music or modeling basically still performing, just with fewer lines to memorize. As I portray Bobo, just keep in mind: I promise I’m better with money in real life… most of the time. Instagram & TikTok handle: @Daoffical_jerome
